On February 24, 2014, the victim inmate was observed walking towards the restrooms in the indoor recreation area at the Warren Correctional Institution. A corrections officer noticed that the left side of the victim’s head was covered in blood. The corrections officer reviewed surveillance video from the gymnasium and saw that the victim had been in a physical altercation with Anthony Pugh. Pugh was observed knocking the victim to the ground and striking him numerous times. Pugh admitted to fighting the victim but denied that he caused any injuries.
On July 30, 2014, Anthony Pugh pled guilty to attempted felonious assault, a felony of the third degree. He was subsequently sentenced to twelve months in prison to be served consecutively with his other sentences from Hamilton County, Ohio. Anthony Pugh is also serving a sentence for felonious assault, aggravated robbery, and murder convictions in 2000.
